The Nourished Nervous System Podcast
Episode 23 - Parenting is Hard
Hosted by Kristen Timchak
Show Notes
Parenting is hard. I think the fact that so many parents are struggling is an indicator of two things. The first is that so many parents are doing their inner work and breaking cycles and healing intergenerational trauma. The second is parenting is hard because this just isn't how we are supposed to be parenting.
I honestly don't have the answers to this conundrum but some musings on:
- Why "parenting is hard" is an incomplete thought
- What we can learn about parenting from hunter gatherer societies
- Nervous system regulation as a parenting tool
- Interdependence in parenting
- Thoughts on my independence being a deep subconscious form of people pleasing
