About The Nourished Nervous System
A gentler way to support your body, your nervous system, and the rhythms of life
I believe healing doesn’t come from pushing harder or fixing what’s “wrong.”
It comes from listening — to the body, to the nervous system, and to the deeper rhythms that guide our lives.
The Nourished Nervous System was born from my long time fascination with the nervous system. It began as a podcast but is becoming a space for women who are tired of overriding themselves and are ready to move toward steadiness, nourishment, and embodied care — especially during seasons of transition like perimenopause and midlife.
My work weaves together Ayurveda, nervous system regulation, somatic practices, herbal medicine and ritual to support real, sustainable change — not quick fixes
My Approach
I work at the intersection of ancient wisdom and lived experience.
Ayurveda teaches us that health is not static — it’s rhythmic. Our digestion, energy, hormones, emotions, and nervous systems are constantly responding to internal and external cycles: seasons, stress, relationships, aging, and life transitions.
During perimenopause, midlife, and other life transitions, those rhythms often change rapidly. What once worked may no longer feel supportive. Many women experience fatigue, anxiety, disrupted sleep, digestive changes, emotional sensitivity, or a sense of disconnection from themselves.
Rather than pathologizing these changes, my work invites a different question:
What is your body asking for now?
Together, we explore how to:
support digestion and metabolism as they shift
regulate the nervous system during periods of change
rebuild vitality and resilience (ojas)
create daily rhythm and ritual that actually fits your life
respond to symptoms with curiosity rather than fear
This work is slow, relational, and deeply respectful of your unique constitution and life context.
About Me
My name is Kristen, and I’m a board certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor, an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist, a Somatic Stress Release Practitioner, Herbalist, Mother and guide for nervous system–informed healing. I also host a podcast called The Nourished Nervous System.
I came to this work through my own lived experience — I had a child at 42 and came to a breaking point. Navigating stress, depletion, identity shifts, and the subtle but profound changes of midlife while also caring for a tiny human left me in a low point of my life. Like many women, I learned what it feels like to be capable, caring, and high-functioning — while quietly (or not so quietly) exhausted underneath it all.
The tipping point for me was being diagnosed with Hashimoto’s after a couple of years of incredibly stressful life circumstances. I realized that I had all of this knowledge around the nervous system and self care, but had lost my way in implementing it into my life. I made a commitment to the health of my body, mind and spirit and my Ayurvedic and Somatic practices. And through slow and intentional shifts have baby stepped back into health and stability.
Ayurveda gave me a language for what I was feeling and a framework that honored my body instead of asking me to override it. It taught me that transitions are not failures — they are initiations.
My work is shaped by years of study, practice, and listening — both to ancient texts and to the women I work with every day. I hold space with warmth, steadiness, and respect, knowing that true healing happens when the nervous system feels safe enough to soften.
What It’s Like to Work Together
Working with me is not about being “fixed” or told what to do.
It’s about co-creating support that feels realistic, nourishing, and sustainable.
Whether through Ayurvedic consultations, somatic stress release, or group offerings like Rhythm & Ritual, my role is to help you:
understand your body’s signals
reconnect with your internal rhythms
develop practices that support resilience over time
feel less alone during transition
This work honors slowness, depth, and relationship. There is space for questions, uncertainty, and tenderness.
An Invitation
If you’re here, there’s likely a part of you that knows something needs to shift — not through force, but through care.
You’re invited to explore this work at your own pace:
through 1:1 Ayurvedic consultations
or community-based offerings like Rhythm & Ritual, designed to bring structure, support, and accountability during times of change
You don’t need to have it all figured out.
Curiosity is enough.
