Hi, Iām kristen timchak
I am an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, Somatic Stress Release Facilitator, Resilience Coach, and a Mother.
I am also a devotee of nature, a collector of beautiful moments (and special stones), and a deep believer in the power of love to create change in the world.
My professional focus is on chronic stress, nervous system health, neuro-plasticity and resilience.
I have been on my own journey of healing and transformation for many years and I know how it feels to be stuck and exhausted and overwhelmed.
One of the most simple (but not easy) and profound things I have learned in the past few years of this journey is that knowing about self care and doing self care "when I have time", is not enough.
I have been studying and practicing Ayurveda, meditation, herbalism, somatic practices (like yoga, authentic movement, contemplative dance and contact improvisation) for two decades. I have been interested in nervous system health for over ten years.
Even with all of this knowledge, my real learning happened after having a child and going through a very stressful time of life (think: pandemic, financial stress, energetic toddler and thyroid issues) and knowing how important self care is, is not the same as doing it. Daily.
Through the power of holistic coaching, somatic practices, ayurvedic wisdom and therapy I have been able to make profound changes in both my mental and physical health.
I am passionate about working with women who feel stuck, exhausted and burnt out, who are ready to make the changes that will change their lives. I love working with people to educate them about their nervous system and the power of neuro-plasticity and transformative self care in order to actually integrate these practices into their lives in a way that is sustainable and lasting.
I have a special place in my heart for mothers. Becoming a mother is walking through a doorway into a new life. The demands and lack of resources and support for mothers in our modern society is a unique and often overlooked challenge.
My Approach
My approach is rooted in both Ayurveda and Somatic Practices. We are nature and so the more you connect with the cycles and seasons around you and within you, the more balanced and vibrant your life can be.
My focus is on cultivating resilience through resources like listening to the body, getting in tune with your unique body type, creating sustainable self care practices, using neuroplasticity to shift beliefs, and doing practices to complete stress responses.
