Cultivating Resilience with ayurveda: A three class series

  • Ayurveda 101

    Ayurveda is a complex system of medicine and health.  It is also as simple as recognizing that we are nature and what is happening outside of us is also happening inside.  This class will cover the basics of Ayurveda with a focus on embodiment. We will talk about the elements, the doshas, the ayurvedic clock, and more! It will include a somatic meditation to bring some of these concepts into your body.

  • Sattva, Rajas and Tamas: Cultivating Resilience in the Mind

    The mind is powerful. In Ayurveda, tending the mind and spirit are just as important as the body. Creating resilience in the mind is a practice. Learning about the ayurvedic concepts of sattva, rajas and tamas can help to guide you to lifestyle choices that bring balance. In this class, we will also talk about stress, the stress response, the window of resilience and how it relates to the gunas of the mind.

  • Calm Vata, Boost Ojas: Cultivating Resilience in the Immune, Nervous and Endocrine Systems

    We know that the systems of our body are interconnected and that chronic stress can impact all of them. In this class we will explore how stress effects the immune, nervous and endocrine systems and how that connects to the ayurvedic concept of ojas. We will look at ways to manage stress and boost ojas to avoid burn out and other stress related disorders.
